The Chrysler 300 first defined what a high-performance American car could perform, and it has been a mainstay of automobile culture ever since. Its legacy lives on in the 2023 Chrysler 300, which delivers the same thrilling power. Discover it today at MotorWorld Chrysler.

The Chrysler 300 Letter Series

In the late 1940s, Chrysler began to develop new models that pushed the limits of automobile performance. Building on the success of the Chrysler Six in early automobile races, the 1955 Chrysler C-300 may be called the first muscle car. Each year, a new model set a new benchmark for power, with the models distinguished by the next letter of the alphabet, from the 1956 Chrysler 300B to the 1966 300M.

The Chrysler 300 Sport Series

Starting in 1962, Chrysler began producing a series of Chrysler 300 models without letters, made to be a more affordable entry point into the power of the American muscle car. Available in both two-door and four-door versions, the Sport Series became the only version of the Chrysler 300 for sale from 1966 to 1971. Beloved by drivers for their high performance, they are still valuable collector’s items today.

The Modern Chrysler 300

The Chrysler 300 returned to production with the 2005 Chrysler 300 model, which was inspired by the original letter series design. The legacy of the first muscle car still lives today in the 2023 Chrysler 300S, which boasts 363 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque for an addictively powerful drive. This legend of American automobiles can still be seen on the track, setting new standards for speed and power.
